- Niña G. Sumacot-Abenoja -

CEBU, Philippines - A lending firm collector was robbed of his collection, including his own money, by two motorcycle-riding men in Barangay Bolinawan, Carcar City last Friday afternoon.

Francis Villarosa, 21, a native of Handumanan, Bacolod City and temporarily residing at Poblacion, Dalaguete, lost P10,000 cash and other items to the robbers.

He works as a collector of NWTF Lending Loan Incorporated – Dungganon, Dalaguete branch.

Villarosa told the police that he just came from the interior portion of sitio Cambuntan and was walking along the national highway at past 3 pm when two men riding a red Honda Wave motorcycle approached and suddenly stopped beside him.

One of them pointed a firearm with an undetermined caliber to the victim and declared a hold-up.

The victim allegedly panicked and managed to evade the robbers but threw away his shoulder bag which contained the items.

SPO2 Joramie Tanodtanod of Carcar City Police Station revealed that according to the victim, the bag contained his wallet with P10,000 inside, including the victim’s P3,000 personal money, a calculator, and a blank check.

Tanodtanod said they conducted an ocular investigation at the crime scene and found out that some of the residents witnessed the robbery.

The bag, which police said was possibly picked up by the robbers, was no longer found.

The police officer said they are trying to identify the robbers who they believe are just residents of the nearby areas.

Tanodtanod further said it was the victim’s first time to visit the area to collect money from debtors. (FREEMAN)
