Pre-trial hearing of administrative case vs. Eversley officials Dec. 7
CEBU, Philippines – The pre-trial hearing of the administrative case against some hospital officials of the Eversley Sanitarium and hospital in barangay Jagobiao, Mandaue City will resume on December 7.
The continuation of the pre-trial case against Sanitarium chief Dr. Primo Alvez and Medical Specialist III Dr. Joanri Riveral has been moved to December 7 after Alvez did not show up at last Tuesday's pre-trial hearing on the administrative case filed against them by the Department of Health-7 Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD).
The administrative case stems from the joint complaint filed by the Eversley Childs Sanitarium Employees Union (ECSEU) with the DOH-CHD-7 last January 2010 against Dr. Alvez for grave misconduct, violation of reasonable office rules and regula-tions, inefficiency and incompetence in the performance of official duties, and oppression and grave misconduct and oppression against Dr. Riveral.
The pre-trial hearing was supposed to prepare both parties for the actual hearing.
The stipulation and admission of facts which should be done in the pre-trial hear-ing did not proceed because Dr. Alvez was not present in last Tuesday's hearing and his lawyer Atty. Omega was not equipped with a Special Power of Attorney to stipulate the facts in his behalf. (FREEMAN)
