NAVRESCOM awards Luigi for his contribution

CEBU, Philippines – The Naval Reserve Command based in Intramuros Manila recently honored Cebu sixth district Rep. Gabriel Luis "Luigi" Quisumbing for his contribution to the different activities of the command not only in his district but also in other places.

Rep. Quisumbing, a reserve officer of the Naval Reserve Command with the rank of Sergeant Major in the Marines received his award in a simple ceremony at the NAVRESCOM headquarters in Intramuros, Manila.

After the awarding ceremony, Naval Reserve Commander, Brigadier General Bernardo Ferrer, briefed Quisumbing on the active role and legal mandate of the reservists in disaster and relief operations.

During the discussion, proposals to strengthen the Reservist system through legislation were sought. (FREEMAN)
