Lakas in Lapu-Lapu to work hard for Gibo

-

CEBU, Philippines - Lapu-Lapu City mayoralty candidate Paz Radaza yesterday said the local Lakas-Kampi-CMD party will work doubly hard to ensure victory for presidential candidate Gilbert Teodoro and his runningmate Edu Manzano.

This was Radaza’s clarification when asked whether the local party in the city was dropping Teodoro’s running mate and support instead another bet.

“No. We are supporting the entire slate of Lakas-Kampi-CMD all the way,” Radaza said, adding that supporters have been told to vote straight for the six senatorial bets of Lakas.

Radaza said they are organizing a big rally on Tuesday evening for Teodoro on the culmination night of the celebration of the “Kadaugan sa Mactan,” which will be held in front of the city hall.

According to Radaza, the administration party expressed confidence that Teodoro and his slate would emerge winners in the city and the province of Cebu.

Teodoro has also received political backing from another influential clan in Cebu after he was endorsed by the province’s ruling party One Cebu headed by Gov. Gwendolyn “Gwen” Garcia.

The Duranos are influential in the vote-rich fifth district.

Cebu Rep. Ramonito “Red” Durano VI has vowed to deliver majority of the 270,000 votes in his district for Teodoro.

Durano, vice president of the local Barug sa Kauswagan ug Demokrasya (Barug), said eight mayors and more than 100 local candidates in the district’s 10 towns and lone city will campaign hard for Teodoro.
