Fight between Gwen, Nerry won't hurt me - Quisumbing

CEBU, Philippines - Congressional aspirant Gabriel Luis “Luigi” Quisumbing is confident that the conflict created between Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and Congresswoman Nerissa Soon-Ruiz because of the latter’s decision to jump ship to the Nacionalista Party will not affect his candidacy.

Quisumbing said he maintain his good relationship with both the governor and the congresswoman.

Ruiz used to be One Cebu Party’s official candidate for mayor in Mandaue City but the party withdrew its support for her after she shifted alliance to presidential candidate Manuel “Manny” Villar.

Ruiz has already tendered her courtesy resignation from One Cebu Party but promises to continue to support Garcia and her runningmate, Glenn Soco.

Quisumbing believes that his platform of government will make him win the elections.

According to Quisumbing, his platform of government is aimed for the development of Mandaue City and the towns of Consolacion and Cordova.

Speaking before the senior citizens in Mandaue and Consolacion, Quisumbing promised to give priority to programs that concerns the senior citizens.

He said he will work for the establishment of a park as venue for recreation of senior citizens and children as well as provide cultural activities for the elderly.

Quisumbing, who came from the family of businessmen in Mandaue City, also give importance to business development. He promises to introduce a system that will attract more investors.

Quisumbing plans to put up a “Business Relations Office” to coordinate with the management, workers and the different national government agencies.
