Man hit by tow truck along M.J Cuenco Ave. dies

CEBU, Philippines – An unidentified man was killed after he was hit by a tow truck along M.J. Cuenco Avenue in barangay Mabolo, Cebu City early morning yesterday.

Based on the investigation conducted by SPO2 Ramon Budiongan, the victim and his unidentified companion were arguing while walking on the street.

Suddenly, his companion boxed the victim, hitting him in the face, which made him fall on the road and was hit by a speeding tow truck of the Road Warrior.

The truck driver, identified as Marskie Fajardo, 31, of Villa Bulsita barangay Bulacao Pardo, said that the man who boxed the victim fled after he saw that the victim was hit by the truck.

The victim, who sustained severe injuries to his face, was brought to Cebu City Medical Center but the attending physician pronounced him dead yesterday afternoon.

Traffic enforcer Erlinda Cabasaga said that when he arrived at the hospital, attending physician thought that the victim was female. But as they were undressing the victim, they found out that he was male.

Cabasaga added that the victim does not have any identification card in his pocket.

Fajardo will be detained as the police are waiting for any complainants. If no complainants will surface, SPO2 Budiongan said they would still file a case against the suspect. – Christopher Gabriel C. Bonjoc/LPM (THE FREEMAN)
