Police examinees lack comprehension skills?

-

CEBU - Most of the police examinees failed to understand well the test questions given during the Philippine National Police Entrance and Promotional Examinations administered recently, said National Police Commission regional director Bernardo Calibo.

“Most of the police and police aspirants who took the exam lack comprehension skills; they had this difficulty of understanding the questions, unless these are being explained to them and specified,” he said.

Also, he noted that it is very obvious that they had taken the Napolcom exam for granted as most had come unprepared or had not done an extensive review of the coverage.

The second and final Napolcom test for this year, in objective and essay types, was administered yesterday.

Results that came out last April showed a poor 12-percent passage rate which was much lower than the passage rate in October of last year at 21.41 percent.

“It would also be difficult for them to hurdle the test as they are not updated with the current events which was part of the coverage of the exam,” Calibo pointed out.

PNP entrants reached 1,027 of the 2,780 examinees; 541 were seeking post as new police officers, 479 as senior police officers, and seven as superintendents. — Ferliza C. Contratista/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
