Cops brace for Nov. 1- 2 rites

-

CEBU - In preparation for the observance of the All Saints and All Souls Day on November 1 and 2, the Cebu Provincial Police Office will come up with an operational plan this week for the deployment of police personnel that would ensure the safety of the public during the two-day holiday.

CCPO director Carmelo Valmoria said the augmentation of personnel during this season is already an annual activity and what they will have to do now is just conduct an update of the operational plan.

“Kahibaw na man ta asa na mga areas mag-deploy. Basta mao lang gihapon to, naa ta’y prohibitions pagdala ug mga imnunon and sound system in the cemetery,” Valmoria said.

Valmoria added they will provide additional personnel in ports, especially in terminals, as part of security measures under the operational provision of CPPO.

Meanwhile, Valmoria said yesterday that the P12,850 cash that were taken from the destroyed video karera machines will be handed over to a charity institution within the Cebu province.

The cash, composed of P1 peso and P5 peso coins, were taken from the video karera machines that they have confiscated in the province from January to September this year.

However, Valmoria said that they are still at the process of identifying the charity institution.

“Ma-mili ‘ta ug institution kanang nanginahangalan gyud, kanang wala sila’y funding gyud ba. This will help a lot to them,” Valmoria said.

He said it would depend on the police on what to do with the money that they recover during their operations but on the part of CPPO, he said they opted to donate it to a charity institution. – Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/WAB(THE FREEMAN)
