Woman raped in Naga; man shot dead in Carcar

-

CEBU - An 18-year-old woman is in serious condition after she was raped and stabbed allegedly by a friend with whom she hitched a ride to Toledo City last Sunday dawn.

PO1 Maricor Aliganga, Women and Child Desk Officer of the Naga City Police Station, said an official of barangay Uling in Naga found the bloodied, half naked woman sprawled in a secluded and grassy area in the barangay around 4am Sunday.

The victim was still conscious when found, thus, was immediately brought to a hospital for treatment.

Alinganga said the woman may have been stabbed seven times. The hospital where she is confined remains undisclosed for the victim’s safety.

In her statement to the police, the woman pointed to her friend Samuel Balorio as the perpetrator.

She said she hitched a ride with Balorio in going to Toledo City dawn last Sunday.

However, when they reached a secluded area in barangay Uling in Naga City, Balorio reportedly stopped the motorcycle and grabbed her towards an area farther from the road.

There, Balorio allegedly raped her while pointing a sharp object what looked like an ice pick or a screw driver at her. After he finished, Balorio then allegedly stabbed her several times.

Balorio remains at large.

Meanwhile, in Carcar City, a still unidentified man was killed after he was shot three times late night last Sunday in barangay Valencia.

PO1 Gilmer Noval of the Carcar City Police said residents in the area heard three gunshots past 10 pm last Sunday. When they arrived in the area, a man was already sprawled near the road.

No one could identify the man, which made authorities believe that he is not a resident of the barangay.

The man is approximately 5’2 in height, appeared about 30 to 35 years old, and was wearing camouflage shorts and a multicolored T-shirt when he was shot. — Ferliza C. Contratista/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
