Valmoria warns cops involved in drugs

-

Policemen in Cebu province who are involved in illegal drugs should be on their toes and shape up, or else they will suffer the consequences of the law.

Cebu Provincial Police Office director Senior Supt. Carmelo Valmoria yesterday reiterated this warning against all police personnel in the province who are drug users or peddlers.

This after the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory recently found PO1 Dave Agcol of Aloguinsan Police Station positive of using illegal drugs.

The conduct of a surprise drug test, Valmoria said, was based on information shared by a concerned citizen.

However, he stressed that the conduct of surprise drug tests will not only be based on tips but is a continuing process in cleansing the police organization of law violators.

Effective yesterday, Agcol was reassigned to the Provincial Security and Service Group of the CPPO for him to be easily available to face the grave misconduct charge filed against him.

“He no longer has the moral ascendancy to implement the laws particularly on the campaign against drugs since he himself is a drug user,” Valmoria said.

As part of their campaign, the police official urged the public to report immediately any police they know who are involved in the illegal drugs.

Agcol will also be criminally charged for violation of the Republic Act 9265 or the Anti Dangerous Drugs Law.

National Police Commission-7 director Bernardo Calibo lauded the move of Valmoria in conducting the random drug tests, saying such measure would ensure that the organization implementing the law are effective and to be trusted.
