Multicab hits, kills drunk man
Drinking and driving are never to be mixed, but this time it was not the driver who was drunk.
A soft drink salesman was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital due to injuries he sustained after he was hit by a multicab in the middle of the National Highway in sitio Lourdes, barangay Yati, Liloan town last Sunday.

By the time the victim was heading home, he was already drunk and walking in a zigzagging pattern.
“Gibadlong siya sa mga tawo kay mitabok siya sa dalan. Unya pina-zigzag ang iyang paglakaw tunga-tunga sa dalan. Giingnan pa gani siya nga basin maligsan siya pero miingon man hinuon nga wala’y moligis niya kay ilado siya sa dapit,” Enriquez quoted the witnesses as saying.
Minutes later, a speeding multicab heading toward Compostela hit him. The driver did not stop but continued heading north, witnesses failed to get the plate number of the vehicle.
Enriquez said they are still investigating the incident. — Garry B. Lao/BRP
