Body of slain driver found in his tricycle in Lapu-Lapu

The body of a 45-year-old tricycle driver, apparently a victim of shooting, was found in his tricycle parked at purok Beauty in the Sky in barangay Babag, Lapu-Lapu City yesterday dawn.

Police identified the body as that of William Enghug, a married resident of sitio Kapeles in barangay Suba Basbas, Lapu-Lapu City.

A certain Mr. Cadungog and his companions found Enghug's body at about 2 a.m. yesterday, and a resident near the crime scene, Ms. Rosales, said she heard a burst of gunfire at around 11pm earlier.

Homicide investigators, led by PO3 William Homoc, said the victim had a gunshot wound that pierced from his lower right ear through his lower left ear.

Responding policemen also recovered from the scene a spent shell of a .45 caliber bullet.

SPO3 Bonifacio Montecillo yesterday surmised that, based on the piercing wound from the right side of the head to the other side, Enghug was possibly shot at close range.

He could not determine however if the victim was sleeping when attacked. Further investigation is now carried out for the identification of the assailant and the motive of the killing. - Norvie S. Misa
