VECO schedules power interruption

Some parts of the cities of Cebu and Mandaue, and the town of Consolacion will experience another round of power outages tomorrow and Sunday as the Visayan Electric Company is scheduled to replace poles and lines, and upgrade its Cabancalan transformer.

On Saturday, part of P. Rodriguez Street and Corner J. Avila Street in barangay Capitol Site would experience a four-hour brownout from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon due to pole and line replacements.

The temporary power outage will also be experienced in St. Martin Heights, H. Labra Street, Garden Groove, and Sunshine Corner Ministry in barangay Sapangdaku, and parts of barangay Guadalupe from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. because of another pole and line replacements.

The same activity would hit Mandaue City that would result in a three-hour power interruption along C. Congson Street, Barangay Jagobiao and in barangay Pagsabungan from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 am.

The maintenance of National Transmission Corporation's Banilad power transformer that serves VECO's Cabancalan substation would be on Sunday. It is expected to cause a seven-hour power interruption in different barangays in Cebu and Mandaue cities from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Areas affected in Cebu City are the whole of barangays Adlawon, Agsungot, Bacayan, Lusaran, Mabini, Paril, Pit-os, Pulangbato, San Jose, Sirao, Cambinocot, Guba, and Tagba-o. Part of St. Mary's Village, San Antonio Village, and Mahayahay Village in barangay Apas; sitio Pundok, sitio Tapuco, Woodlands Subdivision, Binaliw Elementary and High School, and sitio Agpasan in barangay Binaliw; Kapasar Heights, Villa Reyna Subdivision, Budlaan Elementary School, sitio Tac-an, sitio Baugo, sitio Cambaog, and Marie Ernestine School in barangay Budlaan; sitio Kangmaya and sitio Ilaya in barangay Busay; and Gentle Breeze Subdivision, Sta. Lucia Subdivision, Fairview Subdivision, Roga Subdivision, and Panagdait Subdivision in barangay Kasambagan will also be affected.

Other affected areas are Casino Hills Residence Association, Cebu New Century Accessories Inc., Sugbo Homes, Golden Valley Subdivision, and part of Gevaran Subdivision in barangay Lahug, and Northtown Homes, Garden Ridge Subdivision, Silverhills Subdivision, Hidden Valley Subdivision, Mountain View Subdivision, St. Anthony Village, Sunny Hills Subdivision, Ridgedale Subdivision, Villa San Jose, IPI Housing, Talamban Elementary School, Maryville Subdivision, Maryville Heights, Villa Del Rio Village, Golden Heights, Sitio Kalubihan, M.L. Quezon St., Sitio Tayong, Jayme Compound, North General Hospital, Kauswagan Road, Miñoza St., Sitio Nasipit, part of Gov. M. Cuenco Ave., and part of Garnetville Subdivision, University of San Carlos Talamban Campus, Doña Rita Subdivision, in barangay Talamban.

In Mandaue City, the affected areas are Lord of Mercy Subdivision, part of P. Remedios Street, Fathom Home Owners Association, Hidden Homes, H. Cortes Street, part of Felisa Village, Marcelino Village, Orel Street, SMC Housing, Sto. Niño Village, and Holy Family Village I and II in barangay Banilad, and M.L. Quezon Street, ASAVS Compound, Zanorias Compound, E. Cortes Street, sitio Pilit, Purok Salibaguio, Saavedra Compound, Adulfo Compound, Loran Road, Cadauhan Subdivision, La Cittadella Subdivision, and Sitio Cadauhan in barangay Cabancalan.

Other affected areas in the city are Centro Landless Community Association Inc., Countryville Subdivision, H. Abellana Street, Charles Peak Subdivision, Borbajo Street, and Hidden Plain Subdivision in barangay Canduman; Mancra Association Inc., and A.D. Gothong Street in barangay Subangdaku; Charles Peak Subdivison, Bathan Compound, Esmeralda Compound, H. Abellana St., Tintay Market, Sitio Ilaya, Archival Subdivision, Mahogany Groove Subdivision, Tawason Road, and sitio Huyong-huyong in barangay Tawason; and Sacris Road Extension, part of P. Basubas Street, Garces Compound, Semense Compound, and Eusebio Compound in barangay Tipolo.

The whole of barangays Lanipga and Panas in Consolacion town would also experience the power outage.
