Married priests confab set April 29 - May 1
April 28, 2006 | 12:00am
The Philippine Federation of Married Catholic Priests, Incorporated will be holding its 10th National Convention in barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City starting tomorrow, April 29 to May 1 with the theme "Renewed ministries service for today".
Ordained married priests from all over the Philippines are expected to attend the gathering. The delegates are expected to discuss fully and make resolutions adopting the final declaration of the international convention held at Wiesbaden, Germany attended by its national president last September 16 to 19, 2005.
Aside from strengthening the groups' togetherness and enhancing the movement's camaraderie, the convention will also focus, among other things, how to move forward as ordained and married priests and as individual apostolates to group works in the field of education and family counseling.
It also hopes to find new forms of witness and service to the people of God, as the focus of the federation is to project itself on a high profile to reclaim and reserve the dignity and the status of ordained married priests. - Jasmin R. Uy
