Proponents of the bills seeking for the creation of three new provinces out of the present Cebu province are geared up with their awareness campaign minus media mileage as the term coined by the latter "Sugbuak" is said to have given a negative connotation to the measures.
Alex Kintanar, who heads the Cebu del Sur campaign of 2nd district Rep. Simeon Kintanar said that like the Martinezes they are also moving on their own with regards to the campaign.
Kintanar explained that they are selective now in getting through to the media as this is allegedly being extensively used by the opposition headed by Governor Gwendolyn Garcia.
He cited as an example the term Sugbu-ak that reportedly connotes a negative aspect to the proposal on making three new provinces out of Cebu.
Kintanar said that his group had already been around the barangays of Argao, and is ready to proceed to the next towns even before the information period starts prior to the holding of the plebiscite.
Former Congressman Celestino "Junnie" Martinez III, husband of 4th district Rep. Clavel Asas-Martinez, said they are holding of a series of activities aimed at touching base with different sectors.
Despite the resurgence of graft issues against his wife, Martinez said that their camp is focused on letting the public understand the essence of the creation of Cebu del Norte.
He said such activities are planned and mounted without so much coverage from the media.
