PSME, the only integrated and accredited organization of Mechanical Engineers by Board of Mechanical Engineering in accordance to Section 23 of RA 8495, an act regulating the practice of Mechanical Engineering, is recognized for the magnanimous contribution of the noble profession to the progress and development of the city.

Executive Order No. 18, dated September 30, 2013, of City Mayor Jonas Cortes declared the 3rd Week of October every year as "Mechanical Engineering Week in the City of Mandaue".

This is the 2nd year of celebration with the theme: "PSME Mandaue Chapter: Reaching New Heights in Community Development." Highlights of the celebration held at a Mandaue Mall were: Holy Mass at St. Joseph Church; Flag ceremony at City Hall; Opening of Exhibits, and week-long different daily activities.

The week-long celebration integrates programs for the academe and social responsibility to reach new levels of community development. PSME assistance to the City's business is geared to develop industries that are RA 8495-compliant and bring this industrial City to the top of highly efficient, safe and nature nurturing industries of the Philippines.

And all these become possible through the support of Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes and the rest of the City Council. Also through the energetic City Engr. Dario Mago, PSME Mandaue Chapter Pres. Engr. Pedro Ronulf Diongzon, ME Week Over-all Chairman Engr. Siegfred Sia, and the different committee chairmen and council presidents.

Meanwhile, the Papa Joe Allied Services, owned and operated by insurance executive Joe Plando, had its grand opening and blessing of the establishment a full moon ago at their place in F. Llamas T., Labangon, this city. Fr. Paulo Aguilar of Patria de Cebu blessed the establishment, after which, guests partook of the sumptuous lunch hosted by Joe. The establishment is offering 3-in-1 services like insurance, diagnostic and wellness center and motor parts services. These services are handled by expert personnel who will serve the customers in their line of expertise.
