Freeman Cebu Lifestyle

A new dining destination

Yasunari Ramon Suarez Taguchi - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines- To the many who are on the lookout for a novel venue where they can prepare their meal as they like it, here's some good news: Special meals that are sure to sate gastronomic fancies are here!

Pepper Lunch opened its first branch in Cebu early this year - with its signature "Pepper Rice" leading its flavorful fray. Foodies from different walks of life have since been trooping to the restaurant at the 4th level garden area of the Ayala Center Cebu's new expansion.

Established in 1994 by Chef Kunio Ichinose in Japan as a do-it-yourself dining venue, Pepper Lunch anchors its take on the interactive dining concept on the "sizzle-it-your-way" serving style - allowing diners to cook and season their orders in their own terms; which, in turn, gives them the upper hand of savoring their meals at their own pace.

Strictly speaking, Pepper Lunch is not a Japanese cuisine specialty venue - but a number of its featured specials come with flavors that are distinctly Japanese cuisine-inspired.

Its featured range of in-house blended seasonings and condiments backs Pepper Lunch's Japanese-inspired dishes - with the venue's Karakuchi (garlic soy sauce) and Amakuchi (honey brown sauce) being unique Pepper Lunch highlights on their own.

From steaks to pastas, to curry rice specials and seafood sizzlers, those with adventurous tastes and those with a discerning palette for good food will surely find a lot to love about Pepper Lunch. Their website is at www.pepperlunch.com.ph.
