The Dramatic Wildlife in Inside Life

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Braving extreme weather conditions, experiencing surreal close-up encounters and getting into dangerous situations are what’s required to capture seemingly impossible shots of the amazing life forms living amongst us. Go behind the scenes of the Emmy-award winning natural history series, LIFE, withten handpicked secret agents who’ll find out just what it takes to get the most remarkable footage of extraordinary wildlife in INSIDE LIFE. But these lucky ten are no ordinary people – they are budding naturalists aged between 12 and 15 and they don’t even know of the missions that await them!Narrated by English television presenter and actor Barney Harwood, the ten-part landmark series will take the secret agents to the four corners of the globe from Alaska to Madagascar. There, they’ll work with film crews in some of the world’s toughest environments to capture what’sINSIDE LIFE. Catch the premiere on Discovery Kids every weekend starting August 24 at 6:30 p.m.

Filming wildlife can take weeks or sometimes months even if the footage only appears on the screen for a few minutes. The more help the LIFE team can get,the better - be it looking for wildlife or setting up the location for filming. After scouring the United Kingdom (UK), tenselected secret agents embark on fact-finding missions, assigned based on the individual agent’s passions and interests, across the UK before reporting back to the LIFE team. Once the agents have acquired the necessary skills – learning all there is about the London Zoo’s most dangerous lizard or survival skills for extreme cold, for example – their mentors will present them a letter revealing their unexpected secret mission that will send them on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. As the agents head off into the wild, the excitement begins to show and the challenge of the mission sets in. These fortunate ten will not only observe the production shoot of LIFE, they also get to experience some hands-on action fromspotting Komodo Dragons in Indonesia recording the roars of wild tigers in India to getting up close and personal with polar bears in Alaska.

Apart from witnessing the stunning wildlife in their natural habitats, viewers will also go on board on a learning journey as they uncover riveting facts, tips and tricks like how to record sounds of nature at the correct level or using handy equipment like bear flares when in danger of being attacked by a polar bear in the wild. And to mark the successful completion of the agents’ missions, at the end of each episode, viewers will get a sneak peak of the LIFEsequence the agents helped film. (FREEMAN)
