Crown Port View Hotel: Where convenience is top priority

Ritche T. Salgado - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Crown Port View Hotel is all about the fun side of the city.

From the lively view of the bustling Mactan Channel to the city’s lifestyle destinations, Crown Port View offers ease and accessibility ensuring every guest an experience that they could not forget.

Its strength, which is its proximity to the port, allows for guests with an early or late boarding schedule to be worry-free when it comes to catching their trip.

“We understand how travelers feel because we are also frequent travelers,” said Dickson Lim of Crown Port View, “that is why, we make sure that our guests are comfortable, safe, and do not need to always be in a rush as they try to catch their ride back to wherever destination they intend to go next.”

“It’s universal. Every traveler wants an affordable, clean, and decent place to stay in,” he added.

“That is what we strive to offer them,” he said.

Crown Port View Hotel prides itself for its standard rooms with the biggest floor area. “That is value for money, and it is very affordable,” he said, adding that currently the hotel is offering a promo of P1,080 per night for the standard room with single occupancy.

In addition, each guests are treated to a free breakfast at Cafe Pacita, with the choice of Filipino fares like chorizo, tapa, tocino, corned beef, ham, longganiza, and luncheon meat, together with fruits, coffee, and two eggs that can be cooked either fried, boiled, or scrambled.

One satisfied guest commented on Crown Port View’s Agoda page: “I’m so particular of having a good breakfast—Crown Port View served a very delicious Filipino breakfast. I’m sure I’ll come back to this hotel and refer it to my friends too.”

Although not their family’s line of business, Lim is confident and is happy to share that Cebu Crown Port is becoming a success.

“Our family, under the guidance of my father, Filomeno Lim, who is the president of the Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Cebu, has ventured into a lot of business,” he said.

“We have a PEZA-registered IT building in Juan Luna Avenue in Mabolo, 7 Crown Building, and we are also into real estate with the 14-hectare Crown Heights in Compostela, but our main line of business is into wholesale of sugar and snack items with Crown Grocery in downtown Cebu,” he said.

“I wanted to do something fun, and with my travels abroad, I was always fascinated with hotels, not necessarily the high end ones, but even the small ones which surprisingly are also nice places to stay in,” Lim related, and by running the hotel with a vibrant attitude and a fun spirit, he has already attracted many clients including those booking for functions.

Crown Port View Hotel has 48 rooms classified into standard, superior, deluxe, and family room. The latter has two bedrooms, a dining area, and a kitchen ideal for long staying guests.

For functions, Crown Port View offers several packages that would include both board and lodging. Lim revealed that this coming summer they will be accommodating several nursing students who will be doing their review here in Cebu, also in their hotel.

“Tour groups with big buses also prefer to book in our hotel since they would not have a hard time with parking,” said Lim.
