The Summer Programs

Leah May Lim-Atienza - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Namocatcat said the coming summer is going to be exciting for those who wish to enroll in their center, not just because of their new location butalso because they are offering new programs this year likedance and speech and communications.

While individual music lessons will still be offered this summer, they have the Music Adventure and the String Ensemble Program under their Special Music Program, to be headed by Senior Music Teacher Christian del Mar.

Their Performing Arts Program, under the tutelage of Performing Arts Head Rennel Shane Ayong, includes Modeling and Personality Development, Center Stage, and Dance Lessons.

Meanwhile, known local artists will head the Painting, Sketching and Charcoal Drawing classes under the Arts Lessons Program, together with Arts and Crafts for Kids.

“The Arts and Crafts classes are inclusive of the materials needed, but students enrolled in music classes should bring their own instruments, except for those learning the drums or the piano. Meanwhile, our dance lessons are a combination of types of dance like the basics of ballet, contemporary, jazz and hip-hop while Center Stage focuses on acting, voice development and stage performance,” Namocatcat explains.

She adds, “Our Music Adventure is the program where we introduce music to kids at a young age. We let them explore different types of musical instruments, as well as singing. This is primarily basic development in music where we let them handle real instruments. We will allow them to bang on the drums, play the piano and the violin.”

Cebu Music Learning Center also offers Speak and Be Heard, as well as Communication Fundamentals for Kids classes under their Speech and Communication Arts Program, while their Guadalupe branch also holds academic tutorials for English, Math and other subjects this summer.

A maximum of 15 kids will be accepted per class except for the Music Adventure, which will only have a maximum of seven to eight kids. Students can choose between the Monday-Wednesday-Friday and the Tuesday-Thursday-Friday class schedules.

Fridays are what they term as “mixed classes” because this is when all the students get to meet each other and learn together in preparation for the recital, which will be held at the end of the summer program.

The center accepts enrollees aged four years old and onwards.
