JCCCI Turns 33

PEOPLE PLACES - Flor S. YNCLINO -

Thirty-three years ago, the Jesu Christi Community of Cebu, Inc. was organized by a few dedicated couples whose purpose was to help spread the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ.

After 10 years, as the organization was more established with hundreds joining, it was registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission.

Years went on beautifully with nary a hindrance, and the community, with Fr. Socrates Saldua steering as the spiritual adviser, enriched the organization with a lot of ministries. One of which is the Manna Ministry which caters to feeding programs done weekly and monthly; free clinics to indigent patients in towns and barangays with volunteer doctors from Velez Hospital and Cebu Doctors University Hospital; and the biggest project has been the sending of poor but deserving students to college. In fact, the Jesu Christi Manna Ministry has produced students some of whom have already worked abroad, while others are now teaching in the provinces and barangays.

The latest program of JCCCI Manna Ministry is the Cathechism for our children and the sponsoring of Life in the Spirit Seminar (LSS) for new members of the community.

So, last September, the JCCCI celebrated its 33 years of service to the community. Praise the Lord for giving us the strength, power and perseverance, and sustaining us with good health to be able to reach until this day.
