Street Dancing

“Dili ila, dili amo kung dili atong tanan (Not theirs, not only for us but for everyone).” These are the words spoken by Vice Mayor Michael Rama during the opening salvo and street dance launching of Sinulog 2009 at the Fuente Osmeña last Friday evening.

Participated by the majority of Cebu City schools and universities, the parade stretched from the Basilica del Sto. Nino to the Big Oval.

This year’s theme is “Festival of Festivals,” a declaration that many colorful local festivals stemmed from the Sinulog grandeur. The Sinulog takes great pride in being considered as the “Mother of all Philippine festivals.”
