The boy is in town!

- Quennie S. Bronce -

Teriyaki Boy, everyone’s new best friend, recently opened a branch at the newest dining strip, The Terraces at Ayala Center.

Bernadette Lee, brand group managing director of the Pancake House Group of which Teriyaki Boy is a member, said the branch at The Terraces is the first Teriyaki Boy restaurant outside of Luzon.

Teriyaki Boy, a mid-range, casual dining Japanese restaurant, is the brainchild of young entrepreneur Bryan Tiu. It first opened eight years ago at Madison Square, Greenhills and in just seven months, it opened nine other outlets all over Metro Manila. In 2005, Teriyaki Boy became the newest brand under the wing of visionary Martin Lorenzo’s Pancake House Group and in just two years, it expanded from 10 to 35 stores!

“We decided to finally come to Cebu because the time has come for Cebu to accommodate Teriyaki Boy. We have also noted that Cebu’s dining scene has become very dynamic and tourism has really picked up,” said Ms. Lee.

For its 8th year anniversary, Teriyaki Boy is rebranding itself with a new look and some revisions in its menu. The Teriyaki Boy at The Terraces is the first branch to adopt the new look and even a new logo.

“But we are still very much committed to give our clients the best quality products, great meals at fast service and a very welcoming ambience, all at very reasonable prices,” Ms. Lee added.

Chef Adrian Azurin, who was among those who welcomed guests during the opening of the branch, introduced the restaurants three new dishes, namely Teriyaki Boy Fish and Chips, Grilled Shake Salad and Teriyaki Boy Chicken.
