The Parisian puto bumbong in ‘I-Witness’

CEBU, Philippines – This Saturday, December 26, “I-Witness” goes to Paris, France and discovers the heart-warming story behind the puto bumbong made and sold by an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW).

Two weeks after the terrorist attack that shook Paris and the rest of the world, Howie Severino and his team traveled to the City of Lights to take a closer look at how Filipinos are celebrating the holiday season.

Amid new fears mingling with the delights of the approaching holidays,  Severino and his team would find an OFW house cleaner who bakes a special delicacy that reminds her fellow Filipinos of Christmas at home.

Following the Parisian journey of puto bumbong from her tiny apartment to the hands of homesick fellowmen, Severino discovers the maker has a heartbreaking back-story. For this Filipina, the act of creating puto bumbong is a way of coping, especially when it brings joy to her many customers.
