Hugh Grant: ‘My life now is politics’
CEBU, Philippines –Hugh Grant is a family man…well, sort of. Since 2011, the 54-year-old actor has fathered three children with two different women, the much talked-about Tinglan Hong and the far more under-the-radar Anna Eberstein. While there had been ripples of information about the son and daughter he shares with Hong, the star had never spoken about his son with 35-year-old television producer Eberstein — until now.
In a rare break from his standard practice, Grant gave an interview to a Swedish newspaper, and opened up about his half-Swedish son.
Though he and Eberstein are no longer romantically linked, the star explained, “We are very good friends and she’s a very good mother.”
It seems his relationship with their son, who just turned two last week, is also in top form. Describing his relationship with the boy as “excellent,” Hugh revealed, “I see him all the time, all the time — most days. I love him very much,” he added.
But there’s more the actor loves about Sweden than just his son. “On the whole, I’ve been trying to get out of showbusiness for the last five years,” he explained as he noted that he felt “very comfortable” in Sweden. So what’s on his agenda if not acting?
“I’ve been doing a lot of politics in Britain,” he said. “I’m doing a film next spring, but mostly my life is politics.” An interesting choice, considering Eberstein’s mother, Susanne Eberstein, is a Swedish judge and prominent left-wing politician.
“The Notting Hill” actor’s son with Eberstein was born in between the actor’s two children with Chinese-born Hong. His first child, a daughter named Tabitha, was born in September 2011. Within a few months, Eberstein was pregnant. And few more months later, Hong was pregnant again. Eberstein gave birth to a son (whose name remains under wraps) in September 2012 and Hong gave birth to a son named Felix in December 2012.
The British bachelor famously dated Elizabeth Hurley for 13 years before dating writer Jemima Khan from 2004 to 2007.
