Bea Binene releases second album

- Ricky L. Calderon - The Freeman

Bea Binene’s second album under Polyeast Records titled “Dito sa Puso Ko” has a different concept from her debut album that was released last year. That was why Polyeast Records decided to get another artist to record duets with her and that lucky Kapuso star is Ken Chan.

There are ten songs in the album. Bea has four solo songs including the carrier single “Asa Ka Pa.” Her other songs are “Whoops Kirri,” “High School” (popularized by Megastar Sharon Cuneta), “Dito sa Puso Ko” (a hit song by Ogie Alcasid) and “Ang Tipo Kong Lalaki” (originally sung by DJ Alvaro).

Ken has three songs – “Nais Ko Malaman Mo” and two versions of “Sumayaw Sumunod” plus duets with Bea – “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang” and “Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal.”

In her first album, Bea had a duet with former loveteam Jake Vargas. While Jake was also considered to be a part of this new album, Polyeast decided to get Ken instead since he also has a contract with the record label. In fact, Polyeast is also planning to produce a solo album for Ken who sings well.

Bea is both excited and nervous for her new album. Of  course, she wants it to sell and be as successful like her debut recording effort. She is hopeful that her fans will support this new album just like the first one. Bea’s “Dito sa Puso Ko” will be launched this Friday, Nov. 8 at Harrison Plaza.

The Kapuso teen star has accepted the fact that her tandem with Jake is now gone and she knows that their fans are not happy with the development. But nevertheless, she is hopeful that despite the breakup of  their tandem, their fans would still support her and Jake individually.

While she is not closing the doors on the possibility of her and Jake working on a project, reconciling with Jake is a remote possibility.

Eugene Domingo is still feeling ecstatic when she attended the press preview of “Status: It’s Complicated,” her latest movie under Regal Entertainment, held last Saturday at the Platinum Cinema of  the Gateway Mall located in Cubao, Quezon City.

She just got back from Japan where she bagged the Best Actress award at the prestigious Tokyo International Film Festival for her work in Jun Lana’s “Barber’s Tales.” It was Uge’s first full-length dramatic role that was why she considers her victory in Tokyo as very special.

She is looking forward to the release of  “Barber’s Tales” next year and she is eager to show the movie to the local audience. The film got good reviews in Tokyo. She is also hoping that Barber’s Tales will be shown in other festivals as well. The movie has a good message which is about women empowerment.

In her latest movie from Regal titled “Status: It’s Complicated,” directed by her good friend Chris Martinez, Uge returns to comedy in this homage to National Artist Ishmael Bernal whose iconic film “Salawahan” was the inspiration for the new flick which also features Jake Cuenca, Paulo Avelino, Solenn Heussaff and Maja Salvador.

Uge didn’t have second thoughts in wearing a one-piece bikini in the beach scene that was shot in Boracay. In fairness, Uge has a whistle-bait figure. She is sexy and she can pass off for someone in her 30s even if she’s not. And she enjoyed doing the comedy flick after her dramatic turn in “Barber’s Tales.”

“Status: It’s Complicated” opens today in theaters nationwide.
