CEBU, Philippines – Keeping ahead in the digital-transformation arena, Microsoft Philippines recently launched Windows 10 in Cebu to support the mobile working generation here.

Windows 10 is said to be a cutting-edge operating system designed to boost workers' productivity in a mobile and digital-driven economy.

Windows 10 is introduced as a free upgrade for eligible Windows 7 and 8.1 devices or with new PCs and tablets, said Mae Moreno, Microsoft Philippines, Windows Business Group head.

Dubbed as the most secure Windows ever, 10 is designed in a more personal and productive features, with serious emphasis on security protection.

"We are paranoid when it comes to security," Moreno said.

Microsoft, being an icon in productivity and creativeness, is further intensifying its edge in these two vital features, through constant update, while guarding its market hold.

A productivity-enabler, Windows 10 is seen to support the optimum goal of workers, especially companies to excel in productivity without sacrificing time, and quality of service and products.

According to Moreno, this newest product is the most secure Windows that Microsoft has ever released, with enhancements to Windows Defender and Smartscreen to help safeguard against viruses, malware and phishing and new innovations like Windows Hello, which offers a fast, secured, password-free way to log in.

Ready for corporate deployment, Windows 10, Moreno said helps companies protect against modern cyber-attacks, as well as enables employees produce innovations, "with a  platform that keeps companies up-to-date with latest technology."

Moreno added that together with the latest Office apps, Windows will enable companies to work collaboratively anywhere, with the same familiar experience across PCs, tablets, and mobile devices.

Microsoft survey shows that in the Philippines, about 70 percent of SMEs employees spend at least 20 percent outside of the office to improve productivity, but due to the need for faster connectivity, some are compelled to stay in the office.

With Office 365 on Windows 10, organizations can benefit from a breadth of tools for the modern workplace which are constantly updated and scalable with latest productivity features for employees to get things done, Moreno added. (FREEMAN)
