Hardware firm introduces power-efficient products

CEBU, Philippines - A construction supply provider is introducing updated energy-saving devices to keep up with the growing market demand for green technology.

In an interview yesterday, Cebu Bionic Builder assistant vice president for operations Bernard Vonn Sia said that his company will institute another angle of green technology in the construction industry, shifting from the traditional solar-based devices to supplies that only consume minimal electricity requirement.

Cebu Bionic, which has been in the industry for 40 years now, is going to pioneer the introduction of revolutionary green construction products in Cebu market, which include the industrial and commercial fan called Big Ass Fan; an anti-heat solution--Nano-Coat; a daylighting systems called Solatube; Smart Plugs, a USB-wall socket-charger, and HCG's Home Automation System, which controls household appliances, lighting system technologically, through mobile device like tablet, smart phones.

For the Big Ass Fans product alone, a user can easily save 90 percent of monthly electric consumption, while the anti-heat liquid solution brings in at least P750 electricity savings a month.

Sia, presented these new "Green-volutionary" products sourced from Italy, France, Japan, Taiwan and United States, to Cebuano architects, constructions and property developers yesterday at the Pino Retaurant in Lahug.

Sia, who is also the chairman of the PhilConstruct Visayas, admitted that the green construction culture is now on the rise and the public is already mindful of its environmental responsibilities, aside from being able to save on power bills.

Today, despite the growing demand for environment-friendly or green technology in construction, the market is still limited in terms of product availability in wider product segments.
