- Joefel Ortega Banzon -

CEBU, Philippines - To bring its brand of customer service closer to its target customers, Maybank Philippines Inc., opens a full service branch at the Cebu Business Park today, November 11.

The 431 square meter Maybank Cebu Business Center will be a one-stop financial services hub, which will house the bank's Cebu Auto Lending Center, VisMin Personal Loans and Maxi Home Loan Desk, and VisMin Commercial Banking Office.

The new branch is actually a relocation and expansion of the old Maybank branch previously located along Osmeña Boulevard.

In a press statement, Maybank president and chief executive officer (CEO) Amos Ong said "The business center is envisioned to provide convenience for customers at a central location that is accessible."

He added that "the Maybank experience is what differentiates us in the market and we want to bring this to more customer touch points in our branch network."

Maybank Philippines is a full-service commercial bank offering a wide array of financial solutions geared towards the upscale consumer market and selected segments of top-tier corporations.

Known for innovating better banking products by prioritizing what's best for its clients, the newly opened Maybank Cebu Business Center will complement banking operations of its existing Mandaue branch, which is the first among five new branches opened in 2010.

In 2010, Maybank opened branches in key cities in the National Capital Region – Valenzuela, Las Piñas, Taguig and Marikina, and the fifth branch was opened in Mandaue City to tap the potential of the highly-industrialized city.

Maybank Philippines is a member of the Maybank Group, Malaysia's leading financial services provider backed by US$135 billion in Group assets and US$22 billion in market capitalization, Maybank is present in 17 countries worldwide, including key financial centers in Singapore, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Shanghai, New York and London, serving more than 21 million customers worldwide.

Over the years, the Maybank Group has expanded its reach in South East Asia and also strengthened operations in the Philippines. Maybank was the first foreign bank to have established an extensive network of branches all over the country with 51 branches nationwide, offering customers a portfolio of products and services to meet a variety of financial needs.

Meanwhile, since Maybank is now a member of the BancNet network, it enables its clients to access their accounts through the 4,600-strong BancNet ATM network and through BancNet Online. (FREEMAN)
