Green Home service launched in Cebu
CEBU, Philippines - The popular trend of going back to basic and embracing the “green lifestyle” concept, prompted Greenovate Corporation to introduce the “Green Home” service for the Cebu market.
The company is providing “green” solutions to build houses and buildings, in order sustain the environment, and promote healthy living.
Compared to traditional construction of houses, as well as buildings, “Green Home” provides lesser time of construction, and less expensive cost, said Ted Avendanio, the company’s head for marketing and sales group.
“Greenovate Corporation dons the ‘green’ color as it introduces environment friendly innovations. However, there is a perception that green is expensive and therefore not affordable. Not Anymore.” he said.
Green Home uses environment-conducive designs and affordable construction materials which brings to owning a sustainable eco-friendly home that allows clients to save on electricity and water, he said.
Buildings and their construction contribute a lot to the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
Based on a report published by UK’s online construction directory, the building industry is currently responsible for almost 40 percent of global greenhouse emissions.
Cement and steel industries on the other hand that provide materials for building construction are deemed resource intensive, thus, giving a big blow to the use of natural resources.
The company has also partnered with Cebu’s renowned architect Maria Lourdes “Joy” Onozawa for the complete conceptualization of an ideal “green home” for its clients.
Aside from inking deal with real estate developers, the company also accepts projects from individual clients who may want to build an “eco-house” or green building.
Building a “green home” is not about technology, said Onozowa, “it’s about consulting with nature.”
She said the design of an eco-house should fit in the area’s eco-system.
This way, homes that will be built by the company will be designed in such a way that electricity and water consumption will be minimized, and materials to be used are all environment-friendly.
Although, this is something new for the Cebuano market, Onozowa expressed confidence that as the climate change issue is becoming much popular now, more and more people will choose to live in a health and environment friendly homes.
As the company is starting to build innovations for green homes and buildings, its construction prices is pegged within P18 thousand per square-meter to P23,000 per square-meter range.
“We are strictly using alternative construction and pre-fabricated materials. That’s why we can complete a house project, in shorter period of time, in three to four months,” said Avendanio. (FREEMAN)
