Gillamac's marks 40th year; insures workers nationwide

CEBU, Philippines - As it marks its 40th year in business, Gillamac’s Group of companies stressed that employee welfare remains the company’s priority, a claim that was verified by Gillamac’s move to insure the health needs of its over a thousand employees nationwide.

Last Wednesday, Gillamac’s signed a memorandum of agreement with Time is Gold Health Care Systems Inc. (Goldcare), a newly-formed healthcare management organization. Gillamac’s has entrusted Goldcare the health needs of its more than 1,000 employees and dependents all over the country.

“This heralds a new age for Gillamac’s, as it strives to convey the message that employee welfare is a primary priority for its management,” company chairperson Lucrecia G. Alvarez said.

Gillamac’s Group of companies also kicked off last Wednesday, its year-long 40th celebration with a fellowship among the company founders, members of the board, top management executives and employees from its different businesses.

“Four decades of commitment to the Filipinos stand as an assurance that Gillamac’s remains to be the most trusted name in trading, medical and laboratory services, and in computer education,” said.

Gillamac’s affiliates are retail company Gillamac’s Marketing Inc., laboratory service-based company Gillamac Diagnostic and Medical Laboratories and System Technology Institute (STI) franchisee Gillamac Information Technology Center .

The fellowship also brought together the company’s important suppliers and partners, who have been instrumental to its growth and diversification over the years.

Since its inception, Gillamac’s goal has been to provide excellent customer care and quality products in the household, transport and entertainment industries. Armed with the values of hardwork, humility and concern for people, as laid down by its founders, lawyer Cecilio and Mrs. Flora Gillamac, the establishment continues to unleash endless possibilities for the good of both its employees and customers.

Gillamac’s began as a small shop along Junquera Street in Cebu City in the year 1970 as a retail company with only Yamaha motorcycles, groceries and law books to sell.
