Addiction expert magsasagawa ng PCAM confab sa Bohol

MANILA, Philippines - Isasagawa ng Philippine College of Addiction Medicine (PCAM) ang 8th Annual Convention sa Center Professional Development sa Dauis, Bohol sa Setyembre 13-15, 2012.

Ayon kay PCAM President Dr. Antonio Gauzon, na isang psychiatrist at addictionist, ang convention ay may temang ‘Brain, Drugs and Behavior.’

Kabilang sa mga tatalakayin ay Neurobiology of Addiction, Profiling the Brain of Drug Abusers, Substance Abuse and Its Comorbidities, Suscepti­bility Genes in Alcoho­lism Methamphetamine-induced Psychosis, Role of Antipsychotics/Antidepressants in Addiction, Pain Relief vs Addiction, Uses of Cannabis, Lectures on Addiction in a High School at PCAM Interactive Sessions with Government Agencies.

Kabilang din ang Philip­pine Drug Enforcement Agency sa mga facilitator.

Nagsimula noong 2005, ang PCAM ay kinabibilangan na ngayon ng may 200 doktor na mas kilala bilang mga addictionist o addiction medicine specialist, diplomats at regular member.
