Kandidatura ni Chiz suportado ng Piston

MANILA, Philippines – Inihayag ng militanteng grupong Piston ngayong Lunes ang pagsuporta nito sa kandidatura ni Sen. Francis Escudero sa isinagawang covenant signing sa Recto Hall, Faculty Center ng University of the Philippines sa Diliman, Quezon City nitong Lunes.

"Tinatawagan namin ang aming mga kapwa drayber, mga kasapi ng aming mga samahan at kapanalig sa sektor ng pampublikong transportasyon, na suportahan si Sen. Chiz at iboto si Chiz at Piston Partylist," sabi ni Piston national president George San Mateo na first nominee ng grupo.

Nakita ng grupo kay Escudero na parehas sila ng ipinaglalaban at ito ay ang pagkontra sa pagpapataw ng mga bagong buwis na magpapahirap sa kanilang mga tsuper.

"Senator Chiz was also with us in the fight against efforts to increase the common carrier tax on public utility vehicles. Also, we treat with the greatest regard Sen. Chiz's efforts to help the drivers and Piston on issues that are detrimental to the welfare of ordinary drivers and small transport operators," dagdag ni San Mateo.

Umaaasa ang grupo na mananalo sila at si Escudero sa darating na eleksyon sa Mayo 13 upang magkaroon sila ng boses sa Senado.

"We hope that just as we will emerge victorious in the partylist race, we will also have additional voices in the Senate through Chiz," sabi ni  San Mateo.
