7 slain in shootings
MANILA, Philippines — Seven persons were shot dead in Luzon on Monday.
Butcher Espidio Simangan, 21, was at his meat stall in Barangay Ugac Norte, Tuguegarao, Cagayan when he was shot.
Police said Simangan’s companion, Ogin Ibay, 45, who was wounded, could be the target of the assailants.
Ibay surrendered under Oplan Tokhang last year while Simangan had no criminal record.
In Cavite, a man identified only as Ka Kalabaw was shot by unidentified men in Barangay Victoria, Dasmariñas. The body of a man with a gunshot wound in the head was found in Barangay Cabuco, Trece Martires.
Guillerdo Organo was shot several times in Barangay Bilucao, Malvar, Batangas.
In Quezon, Dominador Rosales was having a drinking spree with his relatives in Barangay Concepcion Banahan, Sariaya when motorcycle-riding men opened fire.
Rowena Resuello, 46, was shot also by motorbike riders in Barangay Camp Tinio, Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija.
Cecilia Anatalio, 54, and Samuel de la Cruz, 15, were in an eatery in Barangay Mapulang Lupa, Pandi, Bulacan when they were fired at.
Anatalio was declared dead on arrival at the Rogaciano Sta. Maria Hospital where De la Cruz was also confined.
