The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Police busted a kidnap-robbery ring allegedly preying on Bangladeshi nationals in Metro Manila with the arrest of four suspects on Saturday.

Bangladeshi Kamal Hossain, 38, and Mohammad Anonuar were nabbed along with their Filipino cohorts Laurence Anthony Dalison and Jenny Parraqui in separate police operations in Manila and Pasay.

Prior to their arrest, police said the suspects allegedly kidnapped Tahid Ahmad, 32, along Carriedo street in Sta. Cruz on July 24.

Ahmad said he was freed after the Bangladesh Garments Association of the Philippines paid P300,000 in ransom.

He surfaced at the police station yesterday to file a complaint against the suspects.

Police said they recovered from the suspects a .45-caliber pistol and sachets of shabu.

Charges of kidnapping and robbery are being readied against the suspects.
