Alcala, Salvacion rule Head netfest

MANILA, Philippines -  Angelica Alcala and Prince Salvacion scored a pair of victories each in the Luzon leg of 19th Head Junior Tennis Satellite Circuit at the Civic Center Tennis Club in Naga City recently.

The third seeded Alcala blasted Patricia Corporal, 6-4, 6-1, to bag the 16-and-under girls’ singles title then upended No. 1 Lila Salvacion, 6-0, 6-2, for the 18-U crown in the satellite tournament organized by Head Philippine distributor Dynamic Sports.

Salvacion, on the other hand, defeated Patrick Luis Salvacion, 6-3, 6-2, for the 12-U trophy then scored a walkover win over Lance Guevarra in the 14-U finals.

No. 1 Kidlat Estogero, meanwhile, blanked Paolo Esplana, 4-0, 4-0, to run away with the 10-unisex singles crown in the tournament backed by Chris Sports, Toalson Strings, UBE Express, the Premium Airport Bus Service, and media partners People’s Television, Aksyon Sports, Business Mirror, Philippine Locale, Cook, Health and Fitness, Pilipino Mirror and Philippines Graphics.

In other results, Jennard Gonzales upset top seed Jerome Ignacio, 6-2, 5-7, 6-1, for the 16-U boys’ crown while No. 1 Kurt Molina repulsed Jennard Gonzales, 7-6 (2), 6-2, for the 18-U boys’ diadem in the event which drew more than 120 players.
