Pinoys endure Dangwa traffic to buy flowers
MANILA, Philippines – Filipinos endured traffic jams at the Dangwa flower market in Manila yesterday ahead of the Valentine’s Day celebration.
Policemen and barangay volunteers said they expect heavy traffic along Dimasalang, Dapitan and Laong Laan streets until tomorrow.
Authorities said traffic snarled at the Dangwa area yesterday as motorists stopped by stalls to buy flowers for their loved ones.
Roses are sold at P450 per bouquet while 10 gerbera daisies range from P180 to P190.
A bouquet of carnations is sold at P180 while a single tulip costs P90 to P100.
Some vendors charged an additional fee for a decoration in the flower arrangement such as a teddy bear or balloon.
Vendors said prices of flowers would increase up to 75 percent on Valentine’s Day.
