LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Malacañang has declared tomorrow as a special non-working day in the province of Pangasinan.
Through Proclamation No. 1413 signed by President Arroyo through Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita on Friday declared the said date as a special non-working day in this province.
In 1989, then President Corazon Aquino signed into law, R.A. 6721, the observance of Nov. 13 of each year a special public holiday in Pangasinan which marks the birth anniversary of the late Speaker Eugenio Perez.
Perez was an illustrious son of the province and was the last Speaker of the Commonwealth and the first Speaker of the Philippine Republic.
The proclamation said that this will enable the people of Pangasinan to celebrate the occasion. – Eva Visperas, Cesar Ramirez
