MANILA, Philippines — Noontime show “It’s Showtime” is not complete without Vice Ganda, especially his outfits.
“’Di totoo ‘yan! Ang totoo po n’yan, aalis po ako!” joked the comedian when asked to comment if it is true that “It’s Showtime” is not the same whenever he is away to do tours abroad.
“Actually, kaya ako hinahanap-hanap kasi ako ang nagpapapakla. Nawawalan ng konting pakla ‘pag wala ako.”
He is, in fact, one of the most abused among the show’s hosts, he said. “Nabababoy ako sa programa…Ako po talaga ang pinakakawawa kung makikita n’yo lang ang ginagawa nila sa’kin backstage – tinatapunan, sinasalaula…”
Besides his jokes, “It’s Showtime” fans always watch out for his and his co-host Anne Curtis’ #OoTD (outfit of the day) showdown. During the grand finals of the show's singing contest, "Tawag ng Tanghalan," Vice and Anne changed costumes every commercial break.
He did not deny that his clothes are quite expensive and ostentatious.
“Kasama sa marami kong interes ang damit,” he said during the recent press conference for “Tawag ng Tanghalan.”
“Sa sobrang mahal, ‘yung iba, tinatago ko, ‘yung iba, ninanakaw na lang din!” shared the star, who gives away some of his clothes to his fans and gay friends. It makes him proud, he said, to see his friends wear his gowns.
“Siguro ganun talaga ‘pag deprived ka nung bata ka,” he said, recalling how he used to window-shop in Avenida and in malls with his grandfather. “Naglalaway lang ako kasi walang wala ako kasi wala talagang pera mga magulang ko noon. Kaya noong nagkaroon na ako ng pagkakataon, ang gusto ko, ibigay sa sarili ko.”
Sometimes, he shoots a movie before “It’s Showtime.” If he has no movie, he plays badminton or “raket at rampa sa gabi!”
“Gusto ko, busy ako pero gusto ko na-eenjoy ‘yung kinikita ko at gusto ko rin makasama pamilya at mga kaibigan ko. Gusto ko, busy ako but living my life. Sobrang balanse ang buhay ko!” he touted.
He also justified he changed hairstyle not because he is broken-hearted. “I’m not broken-hearted. I’m actually in a happy place!”
His co-host, Ryan Bang, said Vice confides everything about his love life only to him.
“Last week, we met cute foreigners!” Ryan shared. “Lahat ng alam ko (sa showbiz) natutunan ko kay Vice – pag-aalaga sa sarili, pagmamahal sa sarili muna, pati pa’no magbayad ng bayarin.”
“Vice is kuripot!” exclaimed Vice’s fellow host, Jugs Jugueta.
Vice quickly defended himself again: “Sa Hashtags, ‘di ako kuripot!”
