CEBU, Philippines — The University of Cebu Medical Center (UCMed) is recognized by the Department of Health as one of the best performing Level 3 hospitals in the Philippines during the Hospital Star Awards with the theme Breaking the Barriers of Mediocrity: In Pursuits of Healthcare Innovation towards a Healthy Pilipinas , which was held last November 13, 2023 at Iloilo Convention Center, Iloilo City.
DOH recognizes hospitals in the country that uphold the best health practices and innovations in the delivery of healthcare services looking into the following standards: Safety and infection control, service provision, customer and employee satisfaction, community-based activities, and quality improvements.
On behalf of UCMed s Chairman Atty. Augusto Go and UCMed s President, Ms. Candice Gotianuy, the medical director of UCMed, Dr. Armando Tan together with Dr. Helen Estrella, Nursing Advisory Consultant, represented UCMed and received the award. Together with them Dr. Tan and Dr. Estrella is Ms. Mary Stief Bihag, Compliance Officer and Mr. Ni o Jan Miole.
