How i became a beauty addict
MANILA, Philippines — Is it your favorite song, randomly playing from the DJ’s set list, taking you by surprise? Or is it the competitive rush of an exciting game? It was really from swatching and experimenting at the Chanel beauty counters of Rustan’s in my teens that I was able to find my beauty signature. For seven years now at the annual Rustan’s Beauty Addict event, this experience always turns into a big party for its members. You not only get to sample but also win products and shop with crazy discounts. Here, I have discovered brands that I wouldn’t have tried and now can’t live without if not for the checklist of challenges. This year’s edition, the Glow Beauty and Beats Festival, combines that with live music.
Winding down after breaking a sweat while throwing darts at Perricone and a challenging game of pinball at Clarins, I sat for a portrait at La Prairie. I get a fishtail braid from Phyto while sipping rosé. My new discovery? Sleep-enhancing essential oils that I won from a ring toss game at Neal’s Yard Remedies.
