LTFRB-7, LBP distribute fuel subsidy cards

CEBU, Philippines —  The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board-7 together with several branches of Land Bank of the Philippines conducted a simultaneous distribution of Pantawid Pasada Program cards/fuel subsidy cards Saturday.

LTFRB-7 regional director Eduardo Montealto Jr. said that the distributions were done in Cebu, Bohol and Dumaguete City to qualified beneficiaries.

Montealto, however, clarified that these cards were part of the year 2021 that were not distributed in that year.

“Kaning mga cards nga gi-distribute karon kay pag 2021 pa unta ni dapat mahatag but ang cards bag-o ra man ni naabot,” Montealto told The Freeman.

He said that under the 2021 Pantawid Pasada Program, qualified beneficiaries - the jeepney operators who are valid franchise holder - are entitled to receive P7,200 per unit.

“Ang mga valid franchise holder ra man ang entitled hatagan ani unya siya na ang mohatag sa card kung kinsa ang buot niyang pa draybon sa iyang unit,” Montealto explained.

This 2021 fuel subsidy has already a budget which was incorporated under the General Appropriations Act of 2021.

For this year, the 2022 Pantawid Pasada cards or fuel subsidy cards, the beneficiaries were expanded which would include operators of buses, vans-for-hire, taxi and other four-wheeled public utility vehicles.

The card this time contained P6,500 as fuel subsidy.

“Kadtong naa nay card, automatic na na isulod sa Landbank ang kwarta aron gamiton na nila patubil og fuel sa selected gasoline stations,” said Montealto.

The Pantawid Pasada Program provides fuel vouchers in the form of cash cards to qualified beneficiaries as one of the government’s flagship social mitigation measures. — GMR (FREEMAN)
