WATCH: Chinese citizens defy UN ruling in music video

MANILA, Philippines — A music video of Chinese citizens stating "South Sea arbitration, who cares?" has gained attention over the internet following the ruling of a United Nations tribunal.

The Permanent Court of Arbitration based in The Hague, Netherlands recently ruled that China's nine-dash line claim over the disputed South China Sea does not have legal basis.

The international tribunal also ruled that China has violated the Philippines's sovereign rights in its exclusive economic zone by building artificial islands in the Spratly Islands.

According to a report from the Hong Kong Free Press, the defiant militaristic music video of Chinese citizens has gained more than 3.5 million views. — Patricia Lourdes Viray
