MANILA, Philippines — Pinag-aaralan na ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) na gamitin bilang COVID-19 vaccination sites ang mga integrated transport terminals, expressways at train stations sa bansa.

Ayon kay Transportation Undersecretary Artemio Tuazon Jr., layunin nitong mapaigting pa ang COVID-19 vaccination drive ng pamahalaan at gawing mas accessible ito sa mga mamamayan.

“We’re actually exploring that possibility [of vaccination]. We’re mostly looking at the integrated terminals for the road transport. We’re also looking at the other stations for the rail transport,” pahayag ni Tuazon.

“Even [Transportation] Secretary [Arthur] Tugade has already given instructions to the TRB (Toll Regulatory Board) to see if we can have vaccination sites along the expressways because there are some stations that have space for them,” patuloy pa niya.

Sinabi ni Tuazon na pinag-aaralan na ng TRB kung saan isasagawa ang pagbabakuna, alinsunod sa direktiba ni Tugade.

Nakikipag-usap na rin aniya ang mga opisyal ng DOTr sa Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) at Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) para sa pagbabakuna ng mga driver at operators doon.

Kasalukuyang nagpapairal ang DOTr ng ‘no vaccination, no ride policy’ sa mga pampublikong transportasyon sa NCR para protektahan ang mga hindi pa bakunadong indibiduwal laban sa COVID-19.
