The sweet life

SOUTH SCENE - Katsy Borromeo -

Tell me who your friends are and I’ll tell you, you have many. Donning “naughty-cal” stripes, Agnes Huettel rallied up good friends for her birthday bash at Anzani in Nivel Hills. Youthful as ever, Agnes Huettel who could have turned twenty four, what with the great figure and optimistic outlook, entertained with a natural flair and some lightness on a humid Tuesday afternoon.

The menu that Chef Marco cleverly prepared, think stuffed home-made ravioli with wild mushroom and mascarpone cheese, fillet of pompano fish in baked vegetable rainbow and organic lettuce and French macaroons, had the ladies pushing appointments and extending lunch to three in the afternoon. But everyone was really eyeing the mixed berry pavlova that Kate lovingly prepared and surprised the birthday girl with.

Another sweet ending to one destined engagement is the wedding of Cyrene Paul and Sophia Suzanne Tionko in Davao. The wedding rites in Redemptorist Church was followed by the reception atop Apo View Hotel. Purple freesias and tulips strewn all over the place complemented the different hues of lilac and purple in the bridal entourage’s dresses. Surely, love was in the air.
