The traditional celebration of the Dia de la Hispanidad at the Casino Español de Cebu by the Filipino-Spanish community is always one of the most anticipated social events of the club. This year’s affair was no exception.

The dedicated board of directors led by its president Paco Jarque, secretary Gabby Leyson, treasurer Rene Kintanar, house chairman Eduardo Gonzalez, cultural affairs director Javier Sala and sports director Clementino Diez, amiably welcomed members and their guests to the formal cena y baile at the elegantly decorated grand ballroom Salon de España.

Consul General Fernando Heredia, Honorary Consul Anton Perdices and wife Mari Paz, and Spanish Ambassador Designate Jorge Moragas.

The formal affair was made more significant with the attendance of the new Spanish Ambassador Designate  to the Philippines Jorge Moragas. Other guests from Manila who joined the festivities were Consul General Fernando Heredia and Instituto de Cervantes director Carlos Madrid.

Also in attendance were Casino Español de Manila directors Ramon del Gallego, Francisco Eizmendi, Gabriel Ripoll and member Rene Barretto.  The two Spanish clubs have a warm and friendly relationship with an active reciprocal agreement where members of one club may enjoy the facilities of the other when in their area.
