A unique concept never before seen in a hotel are Savoy’s Squares — open, co-working spaces with lots of room, and electric sockets located every two floors of the 11-story, 684-room hotel.

Welcome to your space!” the front desk staff say in unison, their uniforms sharp and casual. The lobby is wide, long and bright. This isn’t unusual for destination hotels, but for one that’s among swanky casinos in the no-nonsense, utilitarian, almost gritty airport space, it’s a breath of fresh air. Savoy Hotel Manila, scheduled to soft-open on June 28, is the latest addition to the collection of hotels in Newport City in Pasay.

“We are a next-generation millennial hotel, a space to be you, and a space to experience,” says marketing communication manager Samantha Manuel. Like its sister hotel in Boracay, Savoy Hotel Manila is a vibrant space that speaks to a younger market of travelers, but it differentiates itself by its functionality, catering specifically to young professionals who need to get things done in an elegant and relaxing environment.

Savoy Hotel Manila is a property under Megaworld Corporation, a leading real estate developer, BPO office developer and landlord in the Philippines. Having pioneered the Live-Work-Play-Learn township concept in the country, Megaworld has an understanding of the need for balance, and once more displays this through Savoy Hotel Manila’s unique spaces.

A unique concept never before seen in a hotel are Savoy’s Squares — open, co-working spaces with lots of room and electric sockets located every two floors of the 11-story, 684-room hotel. “Savoy is setting the trend for the next generation of guests with Squares, which encourage sharing and co-existing in the hotel,” says Manuel. With the millennial’s constant need to be social, the Squares make perfect sense. Check in at Savoy and find an extension of your room right outside your room is a space where you can hangout with friends, get work done, or stream your favorite TV series all while keeping your personal space private. Stationed at every Square are computers, a Snack Bar and Savoy staff to take dining orders from any Savoy’s restaurants.

Manuel says the Squares are also inviting to big groups or corporate activities. “Companies can book the entire floor so they can have the entire square on their floor to themselves to gather and socialize,” she says. For those who prefer a larger set up, Savoy’s Club Lounge, which can seat 150 people, is also available for special events.

Food may also be enjoyed at Savoy’s other spaces — Savoy Café, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant serving an international menu and special dishes a la carte, Connect Lounge, and Zabana Bar, located at the hotel’s spacious lobby along Andrews Avenue and named after Zabana Rum, the latest product from Emperador Distillers, Inc. The Steamed Chillean Black Seabass is a winner; so is their signature kare-kare. Speciality alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are also available — Savoy recommends their Chocolate Martini made with Vladivir Vodka and Frangelico, the Jack Sparrow Shooter made with vodka, Blue Curacao, lemonade and Bacardi 151, and the Perfect Sangria.

Savoy Hotel Manila’s unique Squares concept, located at every two floors of the 11-story building, encourages socialization and offers guests the convenience of having a business center, a snack bar and a place to simply chill right outside their rooms.

Savoy Hotel Manila’s rooms are also tailored for the young and hip traveler, with colorful carpets, bed runners and décor. Guests may choose from four room types: Essential (standard room), Runway (located every floor, with a view of the Terminal 3 runway), Space Suites, and the Deck Suite. Rooms range from 40 to 53 square meters. Suites are equipped with living rooms, a snack bar with espresso machine and spacious bathrooms.

Guests can also relax after a long flight (or recharge before one) at the poolside, a spacious outdoor area with a swimming pool, Jacuzzi and bar on the second floor. Located on the same floor are Savoy’s spa rooms, sauna and steam rooms, and fitness center.

Special services for guests include express checkout, which you can even do at your floor’s Square, roundtrip airport transfers, shuttle service around Newport City, laundry, pharmacy and 24-hour service. Savoy also rents out Mini Coopers with drivers for guests.

The lobby sets the tone for the rest of the hotel. It says, “We’re youthful, we’re fun. Welcome to your space.”

“Savoy Hotel Manila is really, as our tagline says, a space to experience. It’s not just a place to sleep — you can be efficient and get work done, as well as relax and socialize,” says Manuel. Thoughtfully laid out with the millennial professional in mind, Savoy Hotel Manila strikes a balance between work and play, and understands the needs of the next-gen traveler. It does away with classic hotel décor — bulky lobby seating, soft yellow lighting, imposing crystal chandeliers — and opts for the bright, airy and elegant yet approachable atmosphere that the younger market is looking for, whether they are traveling for work or leisure.

Savoy Hotel Manila means it when it says, “Welcome to your space.” If there was a button that could control how much privacy or engagement one has in real-life, Savoy Hotel would have it. Here’s a space that offers a fully customizable experience, as millennials would want it.
