An eye-opening experience

An eye-opening experience
La Prairie Skin Caviar Eye Lift is the first in the skincare market to address aging of the eye area from the brows and temples and comes in an innovative vial design that delivers a freshly-blended formula for every use.

One of the pros of growing up is the illuminated perspective I believe I earned with age. But what I can tell you from years of trying to open up my small eyes that I used to hate is that the most effective lift is not from the lids, but from the brows because it goes with the anatomy of the face.

See, I’ve tried a brow lift by injecting neuromodulators around my forehead for a semi-permanent fix. For something instant, I’ve already endured dry eyes from the pageant girl secret of severely pulling up the brows and temples with a tight ponytail and beauty tape, concealed by my hair, so you don’t have to.

Now that I just turned 30, for something that can improve it over time, I have been using La Prairie Skin Caviar Eye Lift. It’s new—the first in the skincare market to treat the skin around the eyes from the brow and temples. These areas also droop as time goes by, pushing the eye area with them. If you find that it’s become more challenging to flick your eyeliner for a winged cat eye, the droop from these areas is a factor.

In this new product, the luxury Swiss skincare brand’s signature caviar formula, known to bring elasticity back to the skin of its loyal users, is innovated through a patent-pending mechanism that ensures potency. In the vial, you can see the gold caviar beads and tourmaline-pink gel-cream emulsion housed in separate chambers to maintain their purity. With a press of the activating pump, the two formulas are drawn up, freshly blending them with each use.

“How you apply it also influences how well it works,” advises La Prairie Philippines’ Portia Santos over a caviar luncheon where fine dining by Josh Boutwood meets art by Namsa, Leona Senta Simond, and Daniela Droz, all influenced by the product.

Back at home, I do my due diligence. I dot the silky formula starting at the inner corners, along the eyelid crease going to the outer corner, gently dabbing along the contours of my brows and temples. The serum melts and is quickly absorbed with an immediate tensing sensation. Meant for twice-a-day use, it doesn’t interfere with the rest of my skincare and makeup; I think it even improves the latter.

I love my eyes simply for allowing me to see in 20/20. But with a refreshed eye area—when I don’t always look tired or as if I’ve just cried—my eyes do not belie what I feel. Taking the time to care for my eye area is about lifting the curtains and opening up the windows to my soul.
