The transfer of Bea Alonzo, once prized talent of ABS-CBN, to rival GMA Network has been the trending topic these past few weeks, with star-maker extraordinaire Johnny Manahan following suit as he was announced as part of the GMA Artist Center just this week. But even though some movers and shakers of the industry left their former homecourt, the Kapamilya stars are still shining bright.

Just last Sunday, Philippines’ longest-running Sunday variety show ASAP Natin ‘To set the stage on fire as it held a live show again after quite some time. In attendance were the momshies Karla Estrada, Jolina Magdangal, Melai Cantiveros, as well as Vice Ganda, Sarah Geronimo, Daniel Padilla and so many more who were missed on stage. Shaina Magdayao, who was also in attendance, did post on social media how she missed the Sunday chaos backstage with her Kapamilya.

To top it all off, the Grammy award-winning, superstar band Coldplay performed live from the United Kingdom. Even frontman Chris Martin gave a video invite to tune in as he and other band members belted out their latest hit single Higher Power on the ASAP Natin ‘To stage.

It was a roll call of local superstars as Angel Locsin, Coco Martin, Angelica Panganiban, Kathryn Bernardo and Judy Ann Santos also gave their messages of thanks to all who continue to soldier on with their favorite idols amidst the turmoil that happened to the franchise a year ago.

Piolo Pascual was also back on ASAP after being missed by many when he bannered the short-lived Sunday Noontime Live on TV5, which was spearheaded by Mr. M. But since oftentimes, what goes around comes around in showbiz, ASAP, which took the slot of Sunday Noontime Live, is doing really well on TV5.

TV5 is now the undisputed second major network as it registered an 89-percent increase in overall audience share since January, according to the most trusted AGB Nielsen. It also registered an increase of a whopping 150 percent in Visayas and 134 percent in Mindanao.

This growth is most evident in TV5’s pillar primetime programs, some of which current and former Kapamilya talents star in namely: Frontline Pilipinas; Sing Galing with K Brosas, Randy Santiago Donita Nose, Jessa Zaragoza, to name a few; Nin?a, Nin?o led by Maja Salvador; John En Ellen with John Estrada and Ellen Adarna; Rolling In It with Yassi Pressman; The Wall Philippines with Billy Crawford; and Puto with Herbert Bautista and Mccoy de Leon.

ABS-CBN blocktime shows are also being shown during weekdays for Kapamilya fans to enjoy: FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano comes after Nin?a, Nin?o, followed by Huwag Kang Mangamba, Init sa Magdamag and La Vida Lena.

CignalTV and TV5 president and CEO Robert Galang said, “We are thrilled that more and more viewers are tuning in to our shows. We will continue to challenge ourselves to do even better, and we promise to keep creating shows that delight all kinds of audiences.”

He added, “And while we now have the best digital TV coverage in Mega Manila, I want to personally say, daghang salamat kaayo to our Vismin Kapatids for their support. We will further expand our DTT network in North and Central Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao by the end of July, ensuring truly nationwide coverage, so that Filipinos all over the country can enjoy watching TV5.”
