Ara Mina and Dave are excited to start their blended family
Fresh from their wedding in the very posh mountain lodges in Baguio, which reportedly start at P120,000 per night for a cabin, newlyweds Ara Mina and Dave Almarinez extended for a mini moon last week to make the most out of their alone time.
Still on a wedding high, the couple was gracious enough to lend some time and chat with us for a good half an hour, giving us an update on their plans. They also shared what happened during their lavish royal wedding vibe ceremony, every bit of a dream wedding which came true for Ara.
“Sinabi ko naman kay Dave na ito ang gusto kong mangyari and kahit pandemic, i-pull off ko talaga ito,” she said. “Knowing me, I am very hands-on with every detail.”
Dave, meanwhile, explained why he granted every wish of his wife.
“Syempre isang beses lang naman ikakasal and of course, ang daming challenges ng pandemic and we had to put that sa wedding, iyon naman ang naging first priority natin lahat ano pero without na ma-compromise iyong gusto niya at gusto natin,” he said. “Pinili rin talaga namin iyong mga gusto naming makasama at gusto rin naman namin lahat makasama, but unfortunately, may mga limitations din doon.”
Both are in their 40s already so it was indeed surreal for Ara to achieve a life-long goal. She told us, gushing, “Parang hindi pa masyado nag-sink in. Feeling ko parang mag-boyfriend and girlfriend pa rin kami pero ‘pag gising ko kanina natutulog pa siya. Sabi ko kay Dave, ‘Gising na asawa ko!’ Hahaha!”
Ara is undeniably one of the hottest actresses during her time and up until now, her self-care and beauty are very much the younger generation’s goals. Every time we interviewed her in recent years, she had always been the busy actress-working woman promoting her new ventures but never without any suitors and admirers.
Dave started to make the move on Ara three years ago and tickled the right interests of the busy actress. When he asked her out to go to a church in Laguna, Ara shared why Dave won the lottery to her heart.
“Persistence, sincerity and at my age, sa dami ng pinagdaanan ko, alam mo sa lahat ng experiences ko alam ko na kung seryoso ito sa’yo,” she said.
The biggest plus for Ara is how awesome Dave is to her six-year-old daughter Amanda Gabrielle. When Dave proposed to Ara last January, it can be remembered that he also asked for the permission of Ara’s unica hija, which meant a lot to Ara.
“I-na-accept na niya si Dave as her second father,” she said, “okay na okay at super close kaya nga nagustuhan ko si Dave is because very responsible din siya na tao.”
#TeamDarve is how they want to name their growing family not that their union took place, but a welcome addition for Ara and Dave is very much welcome, a.k.a. one more kid.
“We’re planning to have at least one, kung mamarapatin at ipagdarasal ko ay one boy kasi I have a girl na and iyong panganay niya ay girl,” said Ara, but Dave clarified and joked, “Kung boy or girl tatanggapin namin... twins?! Hahaha.”
Ara and Dave both had colorful pasts when it comes to their love life. Their wisdom in love is worth sharing. For Ara, this is what she wants to tell women who have not yet found their true love.
“Like me maraming single moms, kumbaga huwag silang mawawalan ng pag-asa and if mayroon kayo nangyari sa past na hindi maganda, kalimutan na iyon,” she said. “Kung may masakit na nangyari o nagawa sa iyo, forget about it and forgive them and just move on. Focus on your work and focus on your children or child and pray na ibibigay sa iyo ang iyong lifetime partner.”
